This seminar series, which began in 2003, is open to all faculty, staff and students at Stanford University and its affiliated hospitals. The seminar series is also open to the general public. We hope to use these seminars to introduce the community to the field of Clinical Informatics, to highlight important areas of research and development and to initiate a dialogue on the role of information technology in improving human health. The titles and Abstracts of all previous seminars are available on this site. In addition, the Stanford community (SUNet ID required) can access streaming video and slides from all previous seminars.
The 2004-2005 seminar series began with a special event featuring Dr. David Brailer, the first National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, as inaugural speaker. The series continued with lectures by local and national informatics experts with an emphasis on the Electronic Health Record. Public access to many of the 2004-2004 seminars, as streaming video, in now available.
Following a hiatus, the SCCI Seminar Series will recommence in January 2008.
