The STRIDE Research Data Repository

The Stanford Translational Research Integrated Database Environment (STRIDE) is an informatics project to develop a standards-based research data repository supporting Stanford University Medical Center's translational research mission. Using the new HL7 Reference Information Model as a data model and standardized biomedical terminologies, such as SNOMED, for data representation, STRIDE automatically integrates clinical and research data within a common framework.

The ChartIndex Biomedical Document Indexing System

The ChartIndex system is a standards-based biomedical document repository. The system automatically converts biomedical documents, such as radiology reports, into an XML-based format that is compliant with the HL7 Clinical Document Architecture (CDA) model. These structured documents are automatically indexed using a sophisticate indexing engine that maps noun phrases within documents to Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) concept identifiers. This standards-based biomedical knowledge representation model addresses the need to convert unstructured clinical documents to structured, encoded documents for use in patient care and research.

The Stanford Biomedical Vocabulary Server

The Stanford Biomedical Vocabulary Server provides a set of terminology services to applications that need to support structured data entry using standard biomedical vocabularies such as SNOMED, ICD and SNOMED.
