STRIDE PROJECT TEAM

Todd Ferris MD, MS   Todd Ferris, MD, MS is Informatics Coordinator and Director of Privacy and Security in the Office of Information Resources & Technology (IRT) at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is a graduate of Stanford's Biomedical Informatics Training Program; his research interests include the security of health information and data repository architectures. He is the security architect and access granting authority for the STRIDE system.
Yang Huang, MD   Yang Huang, PhD is a recent graduate of Stanford's Biomedical Informatics Training Program. His thesis topic, advised by Henry Lowe MD, was the implementation and evaluation of ChartIndex, a natural language-based biomedical concept indexing engine that is being incorporated into STRIDE. Dr. Huang is currently Electronic Medical Information Leader at Kaiser Permanente, San Diego, California.
Gomathi Krishnan PhD   Gomathi Krishnan, PhD is the Clinical and Translational Research Informatics Specialist for the Stanford Center for Clinical Informatics. Dr. Krishnan joined the Center in early 2008 from the Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant Unit where she was a CRA. Previously she conducted research on single-fiber muscle cell physiology in aging patients at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Krishnan runs the Center's consultation service.
Peter Lin   Peter Lin is the Center's Clinical Systems Integration and Test Engineer. As he is the guarantor of data quality and completeness in the Clinical Data Warehouse, he is responsible for development and testing of HL7 data feeds and for the development of test frameworks for both the data feeds and the database itself. Peter's background is in data warehousing and ETL; he joined the Center in January 2008.
Yuan Lin, MS   Yuan Lin, M.S. is a Senior Internet Application Developer working on the High Risk Infant Followup database project for the California Perinatal Quality Care Collaborative. Yuan joined the Center in early 2008 from Kansas State, where she was the lead developer on a variety of academic workflow applications and services, including the Undergraduate Admission and Scholarship Application System, the Talisma Admission Recruiting System and a University-wide single sign-on service.
Henry Lowe, MD   Henry Lowe, MD is Associate Professor of Medicine, Senior Associate Dean for Information Resources & Technology (IRT) at Stanford University School of Medicine and Director of the Stanford Center for Clinical Informatics. Dr. Lowe's informatics interests include biomedical knowledge representation, biomedical terminologies, clinical and translational research informatics and the electronic health record. He is the Principal Investigator and overall architect of the STRIDE project.
Sanjay Malunjkar   Sanjay Malunjkar is Senior Technical Lead of the STRIDE project. He leads the team building HL7 message processing systems to populate the clinical data repository that forms the core of the STRIDE system. He is a computer scientist and software professional who had developed applications in financial services, legal, pharmaceutical, retail, telecommunications, marketing, and airline sectors using web services and J2EE before joining the STRIDE project in 2006.
Garrick Olson   Garrick Olson is the Senior Application Developer responsible for the entire client tool suite of the STRIDE platform. An ardent proponent of user-centered design, his interests include requirements analysis, technology trend spotting and best practices for emerging technology integration, and system architecture and design. He is a computer scientist and software professional with a wide range of technology best practices experience from the receivables management domain who joined the STRIDE team in 2007.
Tanya Podchiyska   Tanya Podchiyska is a Research Application Developer whose responsibilities include developing custom web applications and managing and administering the Application Express development platform. Her background is in clinical research and computer technologies.
Nara Ramamoorthy   Nara Ramamoorthy is a Senior Systems Engineer on the STRIDE project. He is the lead developer on the team building a state-wide data capture system for the High Risk Infant Followup program as well as being a key resource on a variety of other software development projects, both client and server. He is a computer scientist and software professional who had developed applications in Life Sciences, CRM and Financial industries before joining the STRIDE project in 2007.
Susan Weber, PhD   Susan C. Weber, PhD is Director of Informatics Systems and Software Development for the Stanford Center for Clinical Informatics. Dr. Weber has been a member of the STRIDE project team since its inception, and is the principal developer of many of STRIDE's core systems. Dr. Weber has a PhD in Computer Science and 20 years' experience as a professional software developer.
